The Dwyane Wade farewell tour made a stop in Cleveland on Friday night, and the Cavaliers saluted Wade with a brilliant video during player introductions. Wade only played for the Cavaliers for half a season in 2017 and was eventually traded at the deadline to Miami after struggling in his role, but Cavs fans still gave Wade a rousing ovation in his final visit to Quicken Loans Arena.
Wade finished second among Eastern Conference guards in fan voting for the 2019 NBA All-Star game, but was not named a starter. Wade said at the Heat shootaround Friday that he wouldn’t put himself on the team if it was up to him.
Via the Sun-Sentinel:
“If I’m choosing an All-Star, I’m not picking me. It’s not an indictment on anything, but guys that deserve to be All-Stars will be All-Stars.”
The Cavs had a special video tribute to Dwyane Wade on Friday.
