The Phoenix Suns were on the wrong end of another lopsided loss on Tuesday, which included Devin Booker getting ejected for a third-quarter altercation with the Timberwolves’ Gorgui Dieng.
To make matters worse, Booker had to be restrained by his waistband as he tried to chase after the Wolves forward in the tunnel. It was an odd scene and not exactly the image the Suns want from their star player — basically getting a wedgie to keep him from a fight.
Dieng, who was also ejected, joked about the post-ejection altercation. He said that he wanted to have a jersey exchange with Booker in the tunnel.
“I wanted to just exchange jerseys with him. Swap jerseys with him. That’s all I needed. I just wanted to swap jerseys with him, but nothing else … No, I didn’t see him. I didn’t see him. I didn’t get a chance to exchange jerseys with him.”
That probably would have gone over just fine.
The Wolves and Suns don’t play each other again this season, so we will have to wait for that “jersey exchange” to happen.
