Fusion announce Hayes and Hwi as Co-Head Coaches

It seems to be that there is no end in sight for all these changes we have been experiencing in preparation for Season Two of the Overwatch League. As teams continue to make changes, fans and professionals alike are beginning to scratch their heads. That is no different for the Philadelphia Fusion. As announced on Twitter, the upstarts from Philly are taking on two new head coaches. This will be for their design of a co-coaching format.

Staffing Announcement – The 2019 Fusion team will be led by Co-Head Coaches – @Hayez and @NamedHwi. We look forward to another exciting year behind their leadership!

The Fusion have promoted Elliot “Hayes” Hayes and Se-hwi “NamedHwi” Go from assistant coaches to Co-Head Coaches. Each respectively having the titles of Western Head Coach, and Korean Head Coach.

This staffing decision may be in effort to more effectively train both Western and Korean players, though doing so separately may garner some less than satisfactory results. That said, both coaches were previously working as assistant coaches under head coach Yann “Kirby” Luu.

This begs the question from many of, “Where’s Kirby”?  Currently his Twitter reflects that he is still very much a part of the Fusion. The president and owner of the Fusion, Tucker Roberts, took to Twitter earlier last night to assure fans Luu is alive and well.

Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know @followkirby is alive and well. He’s still with the @Fusion more news to come soon! #pdomjnate

As for Luu’s position with the Fusion, we will update you once we have more information.
