Derek Carr explains why he's furious with Max Kellerman: Don't question my 'desire'

Derek Carr accepted an ESPN show’s invitation to come on and explain why he was furious with Max Kellerman and Stephen A. Smith of First Take.

Despite the fact that it was Smith who invited the Oakland Raiders quarterback to join the show to air his grievances, Carr elected to join Golic & Wingo and talked about his problem with what Kellerman said that made Carr challenge him to a UFC fight:

“The part where he goes in — again, people talk about performance all the time. That stuff doesn’t bother me, it’s happened for five years now, five-plus if you count college. He said something where he questioned my desire and want-to. This man has never talked to me in my entire life. This man has never worked out with me, never woken up early with me to study, to go and play hurt and all these kinds of things.

“You can say whatever you want about performance and all that, that’s his job and I understand that. But when you start talking about a man’s character and want-to and desire, that’s just a different story. And I don’t think there’s anybody holding these guys accountable when they go off on those kinds of tangents.”

Carr went on “Golic and Wingo” to talk about his challenge to Kellerman.
