The Dallas Cowboys dropped from 14th in total offense in 2017 to 22nd in 2018, and offensive coordinator Scott Linehan was a constant target of criticism throughout the season. After the Rams ended the Cowboys’ season in the divisional round, head coach Jason Garrett told reporters that it was unlikely for the team to make any major coaching changes in the offseason.
Four days later, the Cowboys announced that Linehan will not return as the offensive coordinator, as the two sides “mutually agreed to part ways.”
Former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, who has publicly ripped the team’s “garbage [expletive] play calling” under Linehan in the past, tweeted a Kermit the Frog meme in an apparent response to the news.
Cowboys fans, meanwhile, couldn’t be happier.
Cowboys fans are thrilled over the team’s decision to part ways with Scott Linehan.
