Charles Barkley was in Auburn on Saturday to watch the 12th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats take on his Auburn Tigers.
Despite a strong second-half rally from Auburn, Kentucky held on to win, 82-80. Barkley didn’t appear to be taking the loss too hard, though.
As Kentucky coach John Calipari was addressing the media, Barkley dropped in to say hi. And by “hi,” I mean he jokingly cursed out the Kentucky head coach.
This was the friendly scene in the media room (NSFW language):
The full exchange went as follows, via CatsPause:
“I’m telling EJ [Montgomery] when I walk by him he should be yelling to me that I’m better than Charles Barkley,” Calipari said.
Always quick with a one-liner, Barkley fired back as only he can.
“I was yelling at you too,” Barkley said, “I was saying, ‘f*** John Calipari’” as the room burst out in laughter.
Barkley did tell Calipari he loved him, of course, after all that. So, all is good.
